Web design on the Gold Coast, built to be measurably fast.
We are a small studio in Queensland designing and building websites for Australian businesses. Custom work rather than templates, and we publish the performance scores instead of promising them. This site scores 100% on GTmetrix, on mobile and desktop.
Currently scheduling one new build for the coming quarter.
Three kinds of website.
Most enquiries land in one of these. If yours does not, tell us anyway and we will say honestly whether we are the right studio for it.
Marketing sites
The site that has to earn the enquiry. Considered design, writing that sounds like you, and a structure search engines can read. Built on Next.js so it loads in well under a second.
E-commerce
Shopify where the storefront should stay in Shopify's hands, and custom where it shouldn't. We have built both, including a store running an AI assistant, a custom admin and a companion app.
Web apps and platforms
When a website is really software: portals, dashboards, CRMs, multi-tenant tools. Authentication, payments, integrations with the systems you already run.
Everyone says fast. We show the receipts.
A slow site costs you twice. Visitors leave before the page draws, and Google uses loading speed as a ranking signal, so the people who never saw it were never going to find it either.
Every site we build and run gets tested on GTmetrix, on mobile and desktop, from Sydney, Australia. The results are published with the date and the test conditions beside them so you can check rather than take our word for it.
- 93–100%
- GTmetrix performance across the sites we run
- 388ms
- Largest contentful paint, this site on mobile
- 0
- Layout shift on every site we tested
- 8 / 8

From $999.
People will assume you paid at least ten times that.
It works because we do it our way. One standard stack, deployed the same way every time, with AI doing much of the drafting work that used to be billed by the hour. We are not cutting the quality to hit the number, and the published scores are there so you can check that.
$999 build, one time
- 01Design and build of up to five pages
- 02One round of revisions on the design
- 03Your words and images, laid out properly
- 04Launch, DNS, redirects and analytics
That is the flat price for a site with nothing to store. Beyond that, see the three tiers below.
$199 a month, 12-month minimum
- 01Small content and copy changes as you need them
- 02Monitoring, and fixes when something breaks
- 03Framework and dependency updates, so it stays current
- 04Hosting and the infrastructure the site runs on
Required, because the build price depends on us hosting it. After twelve months it continues month to month.
When it costs more than that
One question decides it: does the site need to remember anything? A page of content and an enquiry form does not. Bookings, logins and member areas do, and that is a different build.
That is $3,387 across the first year on the five-page tier. We would rather show you the whole figure than the attractive half of it, because the monthly is not a detail buried in a proposal. It is how the site stays fast after launch.
One stack, done properly.
We build on Next.js and deploy every site on Vercel using the same configuration. Doing it the same way each time is what makes a $999 build viable, and it is why we can publish the numbers rather than hope for them.
- No WordPress
- We do not build on it and we do not maintain it. A theme is quick to assemble, then arrives with a stack of plugins to keep patched, several on their own monthly subscriptions, and a site that slows as they pile up.
- Shopify goes headless
- If you already have a store, Shopify keeps the catalogue, inventory and checkout while we replace the theme with a custom front end through its API. Your store stops looking like a template and stops paying for apps to do the front end's job.
- Hosted where we can see it
- Every site runs on our Vercel configuration, which is how it stays fast, stays patched and stays measurable after launch.
Four steps, no surprises.
A conversation first
We start with what the business actually needs, not a feature list. If a simpler or cheaper option would serve you better, we say so on that call.
A written scope and a price
What we are building, what it costs, and how long it takes, in writing before anything starts. No hourly surprises.
Design, then build
You see real screens rather than descriptions. We build in the open and you review as it goes, so nothing lands as a surprise at the end.
Launch, then look after it
We handle the launch, the DNS, the redirects and the analytics. From there the site runs on our hosting at $199 a month, which is how it stays fast.
Work you can go and look at.

Gold Coast, and beyond it.
We are based on the Gold Coast and work across the coast, from Coolangatta up through Burleigh, Robina, Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise and Southport, as well as inland at Nerang and Mudgeeraba.
Plenty of our work is further afield: Brisbane, the rest of south-east Queensland, and clients around Australia. We are glad to meet in person locally when it helps, and everything else runs over calls and shared links.
The honest answers.
- What does a website cost on the Gold Coast?
- Ours start at $999 for the build, covering up to five pages and one round of revisions, plus $199 a month for hosting, support and maintenance on a twelve-month minimum. That is $3,387 across the first year, and we would rather you saw the whole number than just the attractive half of it. A site that needs its own database starts at $3,000, and stores are scoped with you.
- How do I know whether I need a database?
- Ask whether the site has to remember anything. Pages of content and an enquiry form do not, and that is the $999 build. Taking bookings, letting people log in, running a member area or saving anything a visitor submits does, and that starts at $3,000 because it is a different job: designing the data, sometimes accounts and logins, screens for you to manage it, and backups. If you already sell through Shopify that is a separate case again, since Shopify holds your catalogue and checkout already.
- Do you work with businesses outside the Gold Coast?
- Yes. We are based on the Gold Coast and a good part of our work is local, but we build for businesses across Brisbane, south-east Queensland and the rest of Australia. Most of the process happens over calls and shared links either way.
- Do you use WordPress?
- No, and we do not take on WordPress sites for maintenance either. It is the default on the Gold Coast because it is quick to assemble from a theme, and the cost of that arrives later: a stack of plugins to keep patched, several of them on their own monthly subscriptions, and a site that gets slower as they accumulate. We build on Next.js and deploy every site on Vercel the same way, which is why we can publish the performance scores.
- Why a twelve-month minimum on the $199?
- Because the build price only works if we host it. A $999 site that we hand over and never see again is a site we cannot keep fast or keep patched, and the monthly is what makes the entry price possible rather than a loss we recover elsewhere. Twelve months, then it continues month to month. You own your content and your words throughout.
- I already have a Shopify store. Can you work with it?
- Yes, and usually by going headless. Shopify keeps doing what it is good at, holding your catalogue, inventory and checkout, while we replace the theme with a custom front end that talks to it through Shopify's API. You get a store that looks like yours rather than a template, and it stops depending on paid apps for things the front end should just do. Slim By Nature runs this way.
- How do I know the site will actually be fast?
- Because we publish the numbers. Every site we build and run is tested on GTmetrix, on mobile and desktop, and the results are on our performance page with the test date and conditions stated. Most studios claim speed. We would rather you checked.
- Will the site work on phones?
- Every site we build is designed for phones first and tested on them, because that is where most of your visitors are. It is also how Google decides your rankings.
- What happens if I want changes after launch?
- Small content and copy changes are part of the monthly, so you email us rather than filing a ticket or paying by the hour. New pages or new features get quoted the same way the build did, before any work starts. Your content and your words are yours throughout.
